Rather than sculpt an ideal form, I focus on the beauty of everyday. Of the imperfect. Of the common. My forms are reflections of the people in my life—myself, my friends, my family. My sculptures are hand built and colored with underglazes, oxides, and glazes. Some pieces are pit or raku fired.

My art practice has blossomed later in life. After going to school for engineering, working as a researcher, teaching, and practicing as an engineer, I found myself missing something. After several years of searching, I found figurative ceramic sculpture, and I instantly knew it was for me.

I have studied sculpture at the Center for the Study of Figurative Ceramics and Sacramento Community College.
